What is One Piece?
One Piece is a World Guinness record-making Japanese Manga series that is written and illustrated by Eiichero Oda. It was Shreisha’s shonen Manga Magzine. It has been featured in the weekly Shonen Jump since July 1997. As of July 2024, its individual chapters have been compiled in 109 tankoon volumes. Moreover, it was adopted as a festival film by I.G. Productions and an anime series by Toei Animations.
However, it gained worldwide popularity in 2023, when it was released as a live TV series by Netflix. It attracted the attention of a global audience because of its amazing action-centred storyline, outstanding art, and realistic characterization combined with humour. By August 2022, 516.6 Million copies were sold in as many as 61 countries. It set history by becoming the best-selling Manga series. Later, it was also acclaimed as the best-selling comic series printed in the book column.
Being the best-selling manga for consecutively 11 years from 2008 to 2018, and with an initial print of volumes of above 3 million, it broke the publishing record and was tagged as the highest initial print run of any book in Japan. Story of One Piece
The storyline of this Manga remains at the core of its widely acclaimed popularity. The story is based on the adventure of Monkey D. Luffy and his crew who are called Straw Hat Pirates. They are on a journey to explore the Grand Line in the quest for a mystical treasure that is called One Piece. This treasure is important for becoming the king of pirates.
The story starts with a pirate named Gol D. Roger who has wealth, fame, and power to gain the title of Pirate King. However, he got captured and was going to get killed. But he revealed that his treasure “One Piece” is hidden in Grand Line. However, it didn’t reveal the exact location. The people began searching for it, but no one was able to find that treasure.
The story moves 20 years after the death of Gol D. Roger, when a young boy, Monkey D. Luffy becomes a pirate and starts his quest of One Piece to become the next King of Pirates.

Setting:
