Bharatiya Janata Party, on Friday, April 5, claimed that the Indian National Congress used pictures of Thailand and New York in its manifesto for the Lok Sabha Election 2024.
“The Congress manifesto is a bundle of lies, designed to sow confusion among the voters,” emphasized BJP national spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi at the press conference on Friday at the BJP headquarters.
Further questioning the Congress’s commitment to the upcoming polls, the BJP leader presented the pictures used in the Environment section of the manifesto. He pointed out that the picture was not from India but from Thailand, Rahul Gandhi’s favourite destination. Thereby raising doubts about the party’s seriousness.
Congress Poll Manifesto For The Lok Sabha Election 2023:
On Friday, the Indian National Congress released its poll manifesto for the Lok Sabha Election 2024. Also, it became the first of the nation’s two prominent political parties to reveal its document vision for the next 5 years.
However, the grand old party had already revealed 25 of its guarantees. Calling it the five pillars of justice “Panch Nyay.” There are five ‘guarantees’ under each pillar, including:
- ‘Yuva Nyay’ (for youth)
- ‘Naari Nyay’ (for women)
- ‘Kisaan Nyay’ (for farmers)
- ‘Shramik Nyay’ (for labourers)
- ‘Hissedari Nyay’ (opportunities as per proportion in population).
The Indian National Congress Manifesto pledges multiple initiatives. It includes a guarantee of a minimum support price (MSP) and ensuring the right to apprenticeship. And a constitutional amendment to raise the 50% cap on reservations for Scheduled Tribes (STs). Scheduled Castes (SCs) and Other Backward Classes (OBCs).
Congress Chief Mallikarjun Kharge proposed the vision document in Delhi in the presence of senior leaders at the party headquarters. Additionally, the party is holding two ‘Manifesto launch mega rallies’ on April 6 in Hyderabad and Jaipur.
BJP’s Dig At Congress Poll Manifesto For The Lok Sabha Election 2024:
On Friday, BJP slammed the Indian National Congress after it used pictures of Thailand and New York in the poll manifesto for the Lok Sabha Elections 2024.
BJP’s spokesperson, Sudhanshu Trivedi, stated that Congress and their concerned team should be aware of what they are adding to the most essential document before the elections.
But how does this picture of Thailand become a big matter? It is because the dirty politics of India require only a little gap to make a mountain of a molehill. The question that we all should ask ourselves it is necessary to make a big deal out of these little issues or they are being used to divert us from the real concerns of democracy. The choice is on us.
Trivedi further added, “They have called the manifesto Nyay Patra after doing injustice to all areas of the country for all these years.”
He stated, “It’s not a big matter that wrong images have been used. However, it is disturbing that these images are of foreign entities. Until now, they have been going abroad and defaming India and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. But now they are borrowing foreign images for their manifesto.”
We all know that Congress did not fulfill either of the pledges they mentioned in the manifesto, either in the Centre or in the States during their administration.
Trivedi further added that “Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge said when Congress came to power, not even a needle started to be manufactured in India. This is a total lie. Indian Institute of Science (Bengaluru) was founded in 1909. CV Raman got the Nobel Prize in 1930. But they will still believe that everything happened after Jawaharlal Nehru.”
Other BJP Leaders Dig At The Congress’ Poll Manifesto:
Amit Malviya, a BJP leader, also took a dig at Rahul Gandhi’s foreign trips, stating, “Looks like the Congress forgot that it is preparing a manifesto for India and not putting together a holiday itinerary for Rahul Gandhi!”
He wrote in his Twitter (X) post, “What else explains using a picture of Thailand under the Environment section? It shouldn’t be a surprise if Rahul Gandhi dashes off to Thailand for yet another holiday soon after the election.”
Himanta Biswa Sarma, Assam’s Chief Minister, also reacted to the poll manifesto. He asked whether a foreign agency was employed to draft it.
The Assam CM posted on Twitter, “The Cong manifesto promises to remove an elected State Government, restore triple talaq, make a U-turn on OPS, have no delivery date on any of its promises, lack a plan to harness the benefits of Industry 4.0, and worst of all passes pictures from Thailand and America as that of India.”
Everybody is quite excited to know about the Lok Sabha Election 2024 results because right now, every party leader is just taking a dig at the opposition.
BJP’s Dig At Supriya Shrinate:
BJP’s spokesperson, Sudhanshu Trivedi, also took a dig at Supriya Shrinate, Congress Spokesperson. She was embroiled in controversy after giving a controversial remark about Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut in her social media post.
Trivedi stated, “Recently, the social media chairperson said she was not aware of who was handling her social media account. At least the party should know who was making their manifesto.”
However, Shrinate claimed that multiple people have access to her Instagram and Facebook accounts. She also stated that someone from them had made the “extremely inappropriate” post, which has now been permanently deleted.
Lok Sabha Election 2024: Pre-Poll Survey Prediction
As the nation heads for the Lok Sabha Election 2024, a pre-poll 2024 survey has predicted much before the election results. The prediction is that the PM Modi-led NDA alliance will continue its third-straight winning streak.
But is this Lok Sabha Election- “By the people, Of the people, and For the people”? The sad reality is that whoever wins, democracy will lose. Because the loopholes in our system don’t offer much choice. And we don’t pick the best but the less worse among the worst.
As per the India TV-CNX Opinion Poll, the NDA is most likely to win 399 out of 543 Lok Sabha seats in the coming elections.
However, the opposition party, excluding the Trinamool Congress, is anticipated to secure only 94 seats in the Lok Sabha Elections 2024.
According to the opinion poll 2024, the BJP is anticipated to win 342 seats, also
- 38 for Congress
- 19 for TMC
- 18 for DMK
- 12 for JD-U
- 6 for AAP
- 3 for Samajwadi Party
- 91 for other parties.
The PM election 2024 will be held in seven phases, spread over 44 days, beginning on April 19 and ending on June 1. Over 97 crore voters, 47.1 crore females and 49.7 males. They are eligible to cast their votes across 10.5 lakh polling booths. The votes will be counted on June 4.
According to the prediction polls, it is quite obvious that the Bharatiya Janata Party is reaching new heights with the most number of seats. However, India is just hoping for the best that will bring significant and positive changes to the entire nation.
Final Line:
On Friday, the Bharatiya Janata Party criticized the Congress’ poll manifesto for the Lok Sabha Election 2024.
